Robin Uthappa of Team Royal Challengers along with Murali Vijay of Chennai Super Kings have been shortlisted for two awards in the best batsman and most dramatic categories for the IPL Awards to be held on April 23 in Mumbai. Ironically, both Robin and Vijay are not in the Indian team for the T20 World Championship in the West Indies.

We are sure you want team Royal Challengers to bag all the awards. If you want to get it counted, then please visit IPL Awards and vote for your favourites.

Team RC’s prolific scorer Jacques Kallis is also lined up for IPL’s leading run scorers along with Sachin Tendulkar of Mumbai Indians and Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings.

The awards evening, to be co-hosted by Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, will be a fusion of cricket and entertainment, with some of India's top names in the latter category, including Oscar-winning music director A R Rahman and Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan, set to take part.

being a gr8 fan of uthappa,i personnaly feel vijay's selection was ideal.coz we need a opener..but if middle order batman was needed then i would prefer uthappa.think according to situation guys.

Kris Srikanth has gone for the TN guy , thats when I say State comes over the Country
Thats where we the state associations come into picture and we have a toothless KSCA.
I think the selection commitee needs to be accountable. They have to explain to the country as to why they have or they have not picked the guy with stats and figures
Shame shame KSCA

Guys chill out, if we call srikanth racial bcos he picking a TN guy, then wat are we, are we supporting uthappa bcos he is from mumbai or rajastan?.. uthappa played great shots n stole our hearts emotionaly as it happened at crucial emotional moments of the match n series, but with neutral head if u think uthappa is more of a slogger like afridi, vj is more classy never slogs player balanced proper cricekting shots, we shud be sporty in accepting other talent as well, remeber wen our vihsy was selector at one time 6 players from karnatak where ther in national 11 no one complained like we r doing now. so shill out n lets look things without emotional outburst..

we are also forgetting virat kohli here. he has proven to be a match winner and has a cool and calm head over his shoulders. he has also matured and can be future captain for india as well as rcb. they have left him out as well.

i was happy that sehwag was injured, so that someone in form can play, choosing vijay over robin was foolish!!!
& hes not been performing 4 the last few matches?????
i wont b suprised if they loose against afganisthan in the 1st match!!!

@all
Guys dont just blame Srikant...I think MS Dhoni is the main culprit...He always puts forward a team which he feels..Never gives a damn importance of any player's form...

For instance for year or so Abhishek Nayar was in team of 16 but he never got a chance to prove himself..Even in the last ODI against south africa where some of the regular players were replaced he didnt get a chance..Instead Rohit sharma who was not in the team of 16 got the chance...
