Saurabh Tiwary hits hundred in Ranji Trophy
Saurabh Tiwary hit 102 in Jharkhand’s Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh at Ranchi on Sunday.
Having chosen to bat first, Jharkhand collapsed to 56/5 before Saurabh Tiwary and Sunny Gupta rescued them. The duo took the team to 176/5 at Stumps on Day 1 on Saturday. The partnership only grew by 10 runs on Day 2 but Tiwary batted with the tail, scoring 102 in the process. He was the last man out for Jharkhand with the total reading 236. HP’s Rishi Dhawan (6/63) and Vikramjeet Malik (3/54) were the main aggressors.
Rishi Dhawan also scored 128 in HP’s reply batting at no. 7. Another hundred from opener Prashant Chopra (101) and fifties from Aakash Chopra (61), Amit Kumar (52) and Aatish Bhalaik (50) helped HP declare on 442/7, a lead of 206 runs.
Jharkhand were 27/0 at Stumps on Day 3 of the 4 day game, trailing HP by 179 runs.
