Takawale Makes A Handy Debut

Playing his first ever match for RCB on 24th April, Yogesh Takawale managed to play a handy role in the team.

Having to chase 151 in the 20 overs, Takawale was drafted in to open the innings with Parthiv Patel in the absence of both Chris Gayle and Nic Maddinson. Facing some aggressive bowling by Morne Morkel from the KKR camp, Takawale kept his calm and played some shots of his own to deny any success to the pumped up opposition.

He smashed 40(28), hitting 8 scintillating boundaries along the way. The way he managed to play bowlers of international calibre was great to watch.

Yogesh Takawale is a 29 year old batsman who currently plays for Tripura in the Ranji circuit, having played for Maharashtra too in the past. In the IPL, he has had a successful stint with the Mumbai Indians too. Takawale was roped in to the RCB squad in the mega auctions leading to season 7 of IPL.
