Team RC first IPL team in the CLT20 semis
Well…..
Team Royal Challengers made it!
It wasn’t that hard in the end, does it? There were lots of pressure and Team Royal Challengers just sailed through! …as the first IPL team to move to the semi-finals of the Champions League T20 Champions.
Big deal, is it? Especially after being the only IPL team to figure in both the editions of CLT20. Big deal, isn’t it?

A few things changed tonight from the game RC played against Mumbai Indians. It was a masterstroke by skipper Anil Kumble to send Virat Kohli up the order at number 3. The man in form, fresh from his stroke full innings against Mumbai Indians, should always be send as soon as possible. Kohli took the opportunity with both hands (and the willow too) to guide the team till the very end. The match tilted in RC’s favour in the 16th over when Kohli clubbed 19 runs. Add to the middle order glory was the opening pair’s delight tonight as both Manish and Rahul Dravid complemented each other with a solid partnership which laid the foundation.
Other than the batting, it was the bowling and the fielding that required some special mention tonight. Kumble was exemplary today, Dillon was tight and Steyn was in his usual self. The surprise package was Kohli again. His gentle cutters restrained the opponents and that’s where RC scored over the Lions. Kumble, Kohli in tandem gave away only 37 runs in the 7 middle overs which proved crucial in the end. Kumble revived his magic bowling a tight spell for 13 runs only and the prize wicket of Alviro Petersen, the most prolific scorer for the Lions. The disciplined effort in the field stole atleast 20 runs from the Lions scoreline which paved the way for the victory, eventually.
The job, however, is half done. Team RC doesn’t intend to stop at the semi-finals only. Can we?
