Team RC loses IPL to a better team
Lets face it! Team Royal Challengers were completely outplayed tonight! Bowling, fielding and batting. The three factors that govern cricket on the field. So lets start by congratulating Chennai Super Kings for their second successive IPL Trophy.

The opening wicket stand of 153 took the game away from RC. There was sheer class in the way Vijay and Hussey played. They mixed caution with aggression. Very sensible cricket, in simple terms. The singles were never missed, the singles were slowly converted into two's and the opportunities never missed to hit the ropes. That partnership killed the hopes.
For those, who believed that Chris Gayle's departure killed RC, for them, let us remind all that in cricket, you can't hit every time you step out with the willow. Today, that faint edge off a sudden bounce that Ashwin got surprised Gayle and all the other millions RC fans. Before RC could recover two more went down, Mayank Agarwal and more importantly AB de Villiers. RC lost the game in the powerplay, for the second time.
Lets not take this as an excuse for tonight's defeat. But playing two high tension, high pressure matches back to back under the hot and humid conditions in Chennai is not a child's play. CSK had almost a week's rest. RC would have had the same had they won the first play-off. But that's not to be! And what ought to be could not be got.
There can't be a rewind button to what happened tonight. But 2 finals in 3 years and a third consecutive Champions Trophy finals will have a serious effect on the confidence of team RC. A positive confidence, about this team, despite the defeat. We bounced back after the initial defeats, after the defeat in the play-offs and then reached the finals as one of the best teams of this IPL. But we lost to a team which played better cricket on the night. Period!
Congrats to Chennai Super Kings, again!
