Unstoppable Gayle! 5th straight win and how!
"Statutory Warning: Bowling to Chris Gayle could lead to hazardous situations".
Prasanth Parameswaran perhaps wasn't aware of the above. The Kochi Tuskers and Kerala bowler will have sleepless nights. How on earth can somebody by so brutal and have such murderous intentions in broad day light? He may be thinking now. For, a little while ago, he was just clobbered, clubbed, slaughtered infront of hundreds of thousands of viewers for 37 runs in his first over (and 3rd by Kochi) by a nearly seven footer Gayle. Kerala is famous for rain and showers, but what Parameswaran was caught in a thunderous hailstorm that swept him across to a no-man's land perhaps. Four 6s and three 4s (including one from a no-ball). In a space of 16 balls, Gayle had by then skidded to 44 and the score to 67 by the fourth over.

If Gayle's was bolt from the blue, it all started with Tilakratne Dilshan walloping Ramesh Pawar for 20 runs in the second over itself. The Sri Lankan skipper may not be available for the rest of the matches for Team Royal Challengers this season, but he made his last match memorable with a 31-ball 52 in his typical aggressive fashion. But after all, a target of 126 doesn't require too much of time or sweat, especially for Gayle or Dilshan. The former showed the path and the latter along with Team RC's highest scorer till date this IPL, Virat Kohli ran through it. The match was all over even before the sun settled down, before the floodlights were switched on.
Gayle-Dilshan's supersonic travails were, however preceded by Team RC's undeniable lead in fielding. AB de Villiers showed his agility with "diving-catching-breaking the wickets", all in one motion. Zaheer Khan, not known for his fielding, suddenly leaped eight floors (just kidding!) to hold on to a one-handed catch and took the team's average fielding to the tenth floors of IPL. Suddenly the next few floors seems nearer for this team which just notched up their fifth straight win.
Just to remind you all, the team wore the Greens today to support Team RC's pledge to the green. But they have not only made the team look greener (read younger) with agility, but also turned the competitors turn green in envy!
Green is good. Green is happy. Green is winning!
