Vijay Hazare Trophy: Semifinals: Karnataka vs Bengal
Karnataka failed to keep up the momentum and lost the semifinal tie against Bengal in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the domestic One Day cricket championship here today at Baroda. Lackluster performance by the Karnataka top order batsmen saw the team setting a target of only 230 runs for Bengal. Except wicketkeeper CM Gautam, who scored a fighting 72, Vinay Kumar (43) and Sreenath Aravind (38), none of the specialist batsmen could make a big impact on the score card.
Defending the low total, the bowlers also couldn't make much of a dent in the strong Bengal batting lineup and eventually Karnataka lost the match by four wickets and a chance to make it to the finals of the limited overs domestic championship too after making the Ranji Trophy finals this season.

Karnataka: 230/9 in 50 overs (Gautam 72, Vinay Kumar 43, Rahul Dravid 29)
Bengal: 231/6 in 49 overs
