Vijay Zol shines in U-19 match against Australia
India U-19s won the their match against Australia U-19 at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin by 47 runs on Tuesday.
India were put in to bat first after Australia won the toss and elected to field. India made 221 in 49.3 overs. Australia was all out for 174 with India's Kuldeep Yadav taking 3 wickets.
RCBian Vijay Zol, the captain of the team showed responsibility and prowess, scoring 46 (63b 6x4) to help India to a total of 221. Supporting him were Akhil Herwadkar (25) and Sanju Samson (34).
His bowlers then nipped a good Australian start before it could get dangerous to keep India in the game. Zol contributed in the field, running out the top scorer for the opposition Ben McDermott (50). The lower order did not last long after McDermott's dismissal, the team caving in from 155/4 to 174 all out as India’s young guns sealed a morale boosting low defense.
India’s next fixture is against New Zealand on Thursday.
