Vinay Kumar to receive Eklavya Award
Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Vinay Kumar was named as one of the 18 sportspersons who will receive the Eklavya Award this year.
The Ekalavya awardees receive suits/silk sarees along with a cash award of Rs 2 lakhs, a medal and a citation from the Karnataka State Government as an acknowledgement of their contributions and achievements in the past 5 years.
Vinay has been a member of the Indian national cricket team’s limited overs set up for 2 years and made his Test debut in January 2012 at Perth. He is currently leading Karnataka in the Buchi Babu tournament in Chennai.
The list was announced by Minister for Sports and Youth Services, MP Appachu Ranjan on Monday in Bangalore.
