It took a fellow Royal Challenger to rescue the mighty Australians from the brink of annihilation and then turn the tables on a hapless Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup. Cameron White, who had a near forgettable IPL for team Royal Challengers, however, showed his class and temperament when he hammered 85 off 49 balls.

His unstoppable innings rescued Australia from a terrifying 67/5 to a commanding 168 – a total which was worth defending and rightly executed by the Aussie bowlers. White’s innings was laced with six towering 6’s and equal boundaries. White has shown in the past his capacity as a big hitter, but on this day he showed why Australia showers faith on his maturity. He handled the devastating spells by the Lankan bowlers with a cool brain and then dismissed them with utter disdain as he grew in confidence.

All of RC fans wanted a similar tales with the bat in the IPL, but that was not to be. But we were sure that he was a great buy and the pieces are now falling into the perfect shapes. Only we hope that White stays with us in the grand auction for IPL 4 and continues his rendezvous with the willow.
