The coolest RCB updates, served hot.

“Yuvraj Singh could be India’s match winner in ICC WC, 2015”, says Muralitharan

After having played out of his skin in the last 2 matches for RCB, Yuvraj Singh has been showered with praises from fellow players and fans alike. Muttiah Muralitharan, a member of this group and Yuvraj Singh’s RCB team-mate had quite a few positives to say about Yuvraj.

“He is a great limited-overs player, but his confidence was low. I know the situation well as I played for 20 years at the highest level. I knew it was just a matter of helping him regain his confidence,” said the Sri Lankan spin legend to iplt20.com.

Yuvraj Singh has already been a central figure in winning two World Cups for India and Muralitharan feels that he could repeat the feat. “I honestly think Yuvi has still got it and India should look after him because I feel he will play a big role in the 2015 World Cup. He will be India’s match-winner there,” he said.

After his match winning performance against DD where he scored 9 sixes in his innings of 68*(29), Yuvraj said, “I just took the confidence from the last game into this one and tried to hold my shape and hit the ball in the last 4 overs.”

“I have been playing in pressure situations for the last 14 years and I understand that you can’t do well every time so I just believe in myself. I have been talking a lot to Muralitharan and he has given me a lot of confidence. I talked to Chris (Gayle), AB (de Villiers), Virat (Kohli) and Dan (Vettori). I am blessed to be among such a great bunch of cricketers,” said Yuvraj when asked about playing under enormous pressure.

RCB play their next match against CSK at Ranchi on 18th May, 2014. It is important that they win the game to keep their hopes of entering the playoffs alive and would be hoping that Yuvraj can continue with his regained form.
