This throws him out of the reckoning for the West Indies tour of India, Eng's ODI series against India in India, the Champions League T20 and possibly even India's tour of Australia.
He will be replaced for the remainder of the England series by RP Singh who last played tests for India in 2008 and ODIs in 2009.
