About meHailing from South Africa, he’s been claimed as the World’s Top Cricketer of the Year 2007 by Wisden. Kallis is a talented right-handed batsman and an effective fast-medium bowler, being the only cricketer to score more than 9,000 runs, bag 200 wickets and pouch 100 catches in both Tests and ODIs. From October to December of 2007, he produced a remarkable streak of five centuries in 4 Tests. With 30 Test centuries to his credit, Kallis has established himself as one of the modern greats of the game. He was pivotal to South Africa winning the ICC Champions Trophy title in 1998 with two man-of-the-match and the player-of-the-series performances. In 2005, Kallis was a part of the World XI team that played an Asian XI in a benefit match for those affected by the tsunami of 2004. In the same year he was awarded the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Player of the Year. Kallis currently holds a number of South African cricket records, including most ODI and Test runs, highest ODI and second highest Test batting average and most Test centuries. Thanks Geek - Let me tell you that the best guy in this team RCB is Jacques Kallis. narendra-jayram - hey kallis ,give chance to young gun like Eoin Morgan narendra-jayram - If there is anybody in this world of cricket who can play defensively by pushing singles even the required run rate is more than 15 that will be the Kallis along with pietersen. UNFORTUNATELY BOTH THE PLAYERS ARE PLAYING FOR THE RCB. ccn - kallis is slowing down the pace of the innings..he needs to get his runs quickly otherwise the following batsman will find it difficult to up the run rate..Think he is concentating only on the orange cap..(he needs to play in the interest of the team).. abheeshtajhonty - rcb can never be called a ’ test team ‘....nd they have proved it!!!....
