Prasanth Parameswaran is a left arm medium pacer from Kerala. A hammer thrower in school, he switched to cricket in college when he was 19 and made good progress to represent Kerala in the Ranji trophy and South Zone in the Duleep and Deodhar Trophy competitions. He attended the Kochi Tuskers Kerala camp during IPL 2011 as a nets practice bowler where his impressive showing led Coach Geoff Lawson to sign him up for the team. On his IPL debut against the Delhi Daredevils he had Virender Sehwag caught behind in his first over and ended the game with neat figures of 2/29 to pick up the man of the match award. Parameswaran was however hit by Chris Gayle for 37 runs in a single over in a following game against RCB. He ended the season with 4 wickets from 5 games with best figures of 2/20 coming against Rajasthan Royals. Prasanth was signed by RCB midway through the 2012 IPL season as a replacement for the injured Sreenath Aravind.

A member of the Kerala Squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Prasanth played a key role with the ball in winning matches for his home side, with figures of 4/24 against Hyderabad and 3/34 against Goa.
