I would like to take the positives from the game rather than fret over what went wrong. The team has a captain, a manager and other support system who will look into that and work on it. Jacques Kallis inpsite of arriving in time to join the team for the game, shook off the weariness of the long flight batted like a true professional. Rahul Dravid i think looked in good touch, and i am sure we will get to see better of him soon. Though it was not their day for Manish, Virat, Morgan or Van der Merwe, expect fireworks from them soon. Kumble and Van der Merwe were exceptional in their bowling.

It is our first homegame tomorrow, cant wait to hear the crowds roaring for our team. Even Punjab Kings XI are coming from a defeat, but it is Ugadi tomorrow and i feel it will be a great gift for us with a win.

I am sure you’ll all be there with me to cheer RCB.

steps to something better :
need to score more runs in first 6 overs (run rate of 4 per over is not acceptable, even a score of 45 - 50/1 or 2 is ok (merwe can be pinch hitter he was fairly successful last year)
need to have sriram in the team he can bowl left arm over (allrounder) has icl experience. pandey, dravid, morgan, uttapa are not even part time bowlers. kohli can bowl but we cannot take chance like this if any main bowler has bad day we will be chasing 160 to 180
Surprised to c vinay kumar not in the line up, 2nd highest wicket taker this ranji season

yes, ramya i am obvious to agree on your point as the failure faced by us is not the detoriting point but rather the stepping stone to success.

yeah!!!!!definitely the only thing to do if we bat first 6 overs=48 to 56 runs for 1wkt
6 to 16=score 136
16 to 20 =score 180
if we bowl first
1-6=45 for 2 or 3
6-16=115=6 or 7
16 to 20 finish the match

Ramya/Divya, first of all, Happy Ugadi (new year) to you and all RCB fans. I miss Bangalore at this time. I know there is one more Ugadi that happens middle of April and I dont remember as to who celebrates which one!
But what I liked from your write up is a very, very balanced writing skill. Finding positives from a defeat and not doing a knee jerk overreaction. Splendid. You show a lot of maturity in the way you write. I would have written exactly what you have done (with my 12+ years of active playing this format in league cricket in Bahrain on weekends). In fact, I have commented already to other posts yesterday - saying almost the same thing. Generally in cricket, but more so in T20, bit of luck or the lack of it changes the whole game quickly, as Dravid’s dismissal showed.RCB bad luck was also shown in the dismissals of Pandey and Morgan - when they click, those shots will go for 4, and when they dont, you saw what happened.

I am thrilled with the team that we have, the pre tournament form that they have all shown and the kind of coach + captain combination we have. Sky is the limit. Lets encourage the Royal Challengers. Not for nothing they are finalists of last year!!!
