Australia is planning to put on hold the three-match T20I series against India which was scheduled to be held from October 11 to 17 later this year. The move is aimed at avoiding the clash with the Indian Premier League which will run from September 19th to November 10thin the UAE.

"With the IPL (happening), it is quite likely that those games [three T20Is vs India] will also likely not proceed, although that is yet to be decided or announced," said a Cricket Australia spokesperson.

Though, there is no confirmation of the fate of the series, given how Australia’s T20I series against the Windies was cancelled due to COVID-19, it is only a matter of time before the formal announcement. However, the four-match series followed by three ODIs will go as planned. The Test series will also see the first-ever day-night Border-Gavaskar Test match to be held at the Adelaide Oval. Though, there are speculations that the Boxing Day test could be moved out of Melbourne if the COVID-19 situation in Victoria does not relent. The last Test of the series will be played in Sydney post which two sides will travel to Perth for the first two ODIs, followed matches at MCG and SCG.

Meanwhile, Australia's tour of England is scheduled to end on September 15, allowing players from both countries enough time to reach the UAE for the IPL.
