Team India put up a show to savour against New Zealand in their latest outing. The batters dictated the narrative, securing a phenomenal win within just 10 overs as the Men in Blue pocketed the series with two balls to spare. The bowlers spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah did a phenomenal job of restricting the Kiwis within just 153 runs. The batters made light work of the chase as Abhishek Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav unleashed an unprecedented carnage.

In India’s rollicking win against New Zealand, a list of records blew out of the window. Here’s the catalogue of the feats which were broken of registered in India’s big win against New Zealand:

·      Abhishek Sharma carved the second-fastest fifty by an Indian in T20Is as he completed the feat in just 14 balls. His mentor, Yuvraj Singh still holds the record for the fastest getting there within just 12 balls which came against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

·      Sharma’s 14-ball-half-century is also the fastest fifty by an Indian batter against New Zealand.

·      Abhishek Sharma’s latest half-century came within the powerplay, which was also his third half-century in the first six overs in T20Is. As reported by ESPNCricinfo, he became only the second-ever batter to do so alongside Eswatini’s Adil Butt.

·      For Sharma and SKY, this was their ninth half-century coming in less than 25 balls. No other batter in the world has more than seven such knocks.

·      India’s successful chase of 154 was the second-highest chase ever completed within just 10 overs. The highest remains 155 by Australia against Scotland in only 9.4 overs.

·      India completed the job of shooting down the total with 60 balls remaining. This was India’s biggest win in T20Is in terms of ball remaining.

·      India’s powerplay total of 94/2 was their second highest in Men’s T20Is. The first still remains 95/1 which came against England in Mumbai last year.

·      India scored 50 runs within just 3.1 overs, thereby completing their fastest team half-century, surpassing the record of 3.4 overs which came against Bangladesh in 2023.

·      This was India’s 11th T20I series win on the trot which became the joint-highest in the history of T20Is.
