Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has been on a roll this season, will be playing his 200th game as RCB gears up for their challenge against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow.

Kumar leads the wicket-taking charts in the history of the tournament as a fast-bowler with a tally of 215 wickets. The last two games have seen him wreak absolute havoc, registering figures of 3/5 and 3/28.

Talking on RCB Bold Diaries, Virat Kohli opened up on how good Bhuvi has been over the years. Kohli highlighted Bhuvi’s excellent run across all formats while underlining his ability to deliver under the pump which makes him an absolute favourite for captains.

Explaining the longevity that Bhuvi has knitted together over the years, Kohli said, “It's a big feat to play 200 games, especially as a fast bowler. I know it's T20 cricket, but that tells you the longevity and he's played so much cricket over all these years, you know, all kinds of formats and been such a successful bowler.”

Picking out what are the necessary points that sets Bhuvneshwar Kumar apart, Kohli said, “The thing that stands out for me with Bhuvi has always been his, you know, understanding of the game, his cricket smarts, and he's probably been, you know, in the top three pacers in the IPL ever. You look at his economy and the number of wickets he's taken and just the way he goes about it, number of dot balls every game that he plays in.”

Shedding light on how Bhuvi provides reliability for the captains, Kohli added, “And you know, he's a guy you can bank on under pressure 100% of the time, which is actually crazy if you think about it, over so many years to still have that skill and have that execution that the captain can bank on you every game. It's a great achievement.”

He concluded by saying, “I send a big congratulations to him and hopefully he can keep continuing the great work that he's done over the years for all the teams that he's played and continues to do it for us as well this season.”
