Deepti Sharma claims pole position in latest ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings
India’s star all-rounder Deepti Sharma aced the newly released bowling rankings in ICC Women’s T20Is category, chronicling this feat for the first time in her glistening international career.
She leapfrogged Annabel Sutherland to climb up to the top spot after a decent show in the first T20I against Sri Lanka.
Deepti’s teammate, Jemimah Rodrigues also gained five spots to climb up to the ninth position in T20Is after her unbeaten knock of 69 propelled India to a clinical win in the series opener.
Alongside Jemimah, Smriti Mandhana (3rd) and Shafali Verma (tenth) are the other Indian players among the top 10 players in T20I batting rankings.
Mandhana lost her ace in the ODIs, dropping to second as Laura Wolvaardt climbed to the pole position. Mandhana had 811 points next to her name after a dream run in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup. Deepti Sharma (4th) was the only Indian to be a part of the top ten bowling rankings in ODIs.
