Devdutt Padikkal smashes a 91 in Vijay Hazare Trophy
Devdutt Padikkal produced another instrumental in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy as he smashed an incredible 91 from just 82 balls to propel Karnataka to another staggering victory against Rajasthan.
Padikkal’s 91 came on the back of his fourth century of the tournament in the last game against Tripura. Opening the innings with Mayank Agarawal, Padikkal was a part of a colossal 184-runs stand for the opening pair.
He rocked 12 fours and two sixes, hammering home another decisive innings in the ongoing edition of the tournament. He has already racked up scores of 147 against Jharkhand, 124 against Kerala, 113 against Puducherry, 108 against Tripura before he came out all guns blazing against Rajasthan.
From the six innings that he has played in the latest iteration of VHT, Padikkal has amassed 605 runs at a strike rate of 100.83. This is the third time he has crossed the 600-run barrier in the tournament. The last two times came in 2019-20 and 2020-21 where he amassed 609 runs and 737 runs respectively.
