India eye series win as Zimbabwe fight to stay alive in 2nd T20I
With a win in the bag, India will set their sights on pocketing the T20I series as they collide with Zimbabwe in Harare again. The first game was secured comfortably by the Men in Blue, who outmuscled Zimbabwe in all departments.
With Vaibhav Sooryavanshi returning to form, India will be fairly relieved. Despite Abhishek Sharma falling early, he has always shown a tendency to bounce back, and that’s exactly what the visitors will be hoping for. India’s bowling unit showed immense grit and brilliance in the series opener and could possibly stay unchanged for the second game as well.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will be concerned by the performance of their batting order. Apart from Ryan Burl, Wessly Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani, the rest of the Zimbabwean batting unit faltered badly in the series opener. They will be looking to fight back as the fate of the series hangs in the balance.
With two clashes in two days, both sides might consider a few changes to the playing XI to manage player fitness. Despite the possible changes, one can expect this game to be a cracker of an affair given the contrasting objectives for both teams.
Venue Watch:
The first clash in Harare already showed that the surface offers a few traps for batters early on, with the ball tending to stick. The team batting first will have to exercise caution for a while before they can cut loose. The second half of the game, however, should see the track ease out for batting. Hence, the team chasing could have a slight upper hand.
