RCB signed a strong core of players in the latest iteration of the WPL 2026 Auction, with the prime focus on landing a solid bunch of Indian players aligned perfectly with a bunch of overseas heavy-hitters to craft a consistent playing XI.

On the first episode of RCB’s WPL Auction Planning videos, Assistant Coach Anya Shrubsole was seen discussing the think-tank's initial strategy at the auction. Seen speaking with Malolan Rangarajan, she focused on the importance of nailing a winning combination.

Anya said, “I completely agree with investing as heavily as possible in the playing XI. The reality is that while injuries can occur, successful teams - when things go their way- tend not to change their combinations very often. So why would you go down that route?”

She also highlighted the importance of capped Indian players who could make a significant difference, adding, “I also think there is strong depth among Indian capped bowlers currently available - players who can contribute in different ways with the bat as well. Their versatility will play a significant role in shaping any successful campaign.”

With that being said, capped Indian players such as Radha Yadav, Pooja Vastrakar and Arundhati Reddy can be key inclusions to the RCB bowling unit with their ability to contribute with the bat lower down the order.
