It’s a special feeling– Shreyanka Patil after India-W’s triumph in Japan
Returning from a long injury, Shreyanka Patil had a point to prove as India took the yard for their Asian Games. Starting in all the games, Patil looked in excellent shape, as she concluded the tournament with a haul of four wickets.
Patil saved her best for the last where she claimed a brace against Sri Lanka as India won the summit clash to clinch their second consecutive gold medal.
Talking in an interview with the Indian official social media handle of Olympics, Patil opened up on the feelings of winning her first Asian Games medal while also reflecting on the celebrations that were saved for the night after India’s triumph. Talking about the celebrations, Patil said, “I don’t know as of now. I will have to go to the room, freshen up and then figure out how the celebrations will be. Obviously we will have a good dinner today.”
Opening up on the crude feelings of winning her first Asian Games medal, Patil added, “It’s a special day for me. It’s my first Gold medal in the Asian Games, also my first gold medal in the career so far. I am very happy and grateful to be here. I can go and showcase my medal in my house as well.”
She concluded by talking about her ability to contribute in all three departments, stating, “I mean responsibility is a good thing and I love being a part of everything. I enjoy fielding. I love batting and I love bowling. So I believe that when you are good at all three departments, you feel good about it. It’s fun to contribute in all three departments.”
