RCB meet Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026 summit clash
All roads lead to Ahmedabad on Sunday as RCB gear up for their second consecutive IPL finale. With Gujarat Titans in sight, Rajat Patidar and company will be hopeful of putting up a show to remember and completing what has been an incredible run over 15 long matches. This will be the fourth time the two teams meet in the tournament, with RCB winning two of their last three meetings, including the victory in the Qualifier.
RCB’s all-round performance in the first Qualifier saw them sail through to the summit clash. Captain Rajat Patidar delivered a very special show with the bat, receiving help from his teammates as well, setting the stage for a grandstand finish. The bowlers combined for a clinical performance that got the job done with consummate ease for the Royal Challengers.
The Titans recovered from their setback against RCB to better Rajasthan Royals in the second Qualifier, securing their second final berth. A superlative batting performance from their skipper, Shubman Gill coupled with instrumental cameos from the rest of the batting unit, saw the Titans chase down a significant total without much ado.
Both sides boast an extremely strong batting unit which heightens the anticipation of a run-fest. However, knowing the surface in Ahmedabad, one might expect bowlers to actually steal the show. A track that has shown hints of spongy bounce before, it goes without saying that batters will also have to be watchful about playing their shots if they need to get the necessary runs on the board.
Venue Watch
The surface in Ahmedabad has shown phases where the ball tends to get stuck. The carry isn’t exactly smooth on this track and that will require batters to adjust accordingly. Dew in the second half will ease things for the chasing side. The captain winning the toss might opt to bowl first to utilize the dew factor in the second half.
