Everybody knows that Romario Shepherd can create a world of difference when it comes to swinging the bat. But he is equally good as a bowler and takes care of the role of the fourth seamer with exceptional composure. In IPL 2025, he claimed six crucial wickets at a strike rate of 14.

In one of RCB’s practice games, runs were aplenty. However, Romario Shepherd looked good for the spell that he bowled in which he registered figures of 1/22 from three overs. The slower variations from Shepherd were more than enough to throw the batters off his trail.

Talking about Romario Shepherd’s bowling flair, RCB’s bowling coach, Omkar Salvi, shared insights on how the Caribbean all-rounder focuses on using the variations. He also linked this ability of his with the awareness of the surface and the kind of difference that makes.

Explaining it all on RCB Bold Diaries, Salvi said, “I think Romario has the potential to go in as the fourth seamer. This gives us as the advantage as the team. The way he bowled on the surface was actually excellent.”

Salvi further added, “He initially hit the deck hard and then uses variation balls, nicely mixing those change-of-pace-bouncers and the yorkers. So that is something good to have. Great start for him to have the confidence and taking it into the game scenario.
