We are just focusing on our preparation – Jitesh Sharma on RCB’s approach against CSK
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings in what will be the first chapter of IPL’s El Clasico in less than 24 hours. With a win in the first game of the tournament, RCB’s confidence is high. They will be hopeful of adding further sheen to their campaign against Chennai who have lost their first two encounters.
Talking in the pre-match presser ahead of RCB’s collision against CSK, Jitesh Sharma who has been appointed as Rajat Patidar’s deputy for the season, opened up on their approach for the crucial fixture. He also highlighted his vice-captaincy for the team and the sheer weight of the responsibility that follows.
Shedding light on RCB’s approach, Jitesh said, “I think it’s very simple, we are just focussing on our own process rather than thinking about what they have done in the last one week. We are just focussing on our preparation, that’s it, that’s the simple thing.”
Explaining the crucial responsibility that comes along with the vice-captaincy of the side, Sharma said, “I think whenever you get the responsibility, you feel grateful and privileged and I take extra effort to give something to my team. Whatever possible, how I can contribute to the win, I think that gives you extra responsibility when you are in the leadership role.”
