Happy 2013…it’s time to look ahead!
The first month of the year is over and it has not been without its moments.
We start the year saying good-bye and thank you to Anil Kumble for his wonderful mentorship and experience over the past 5 years with RCB. We wish him well at Mumbai Indians and in his business interests going forward.
The past six months has given us an ideal opportunity to re-visit all our policies and regulations, compliance matters and service provider agreements. Now it’s time to look ahead as we continue to strive for success, both on and off the field.
A few months ago we also started a process of sourcing external sponsors. Word spread very quickly throughout India and abroad. As a result, we have been approached by many potential partners with whom we are currently in advanced discussions. You will be the first to hear when the time is ripe to share news on any new exciting RCB sponsors/partners.
RCB offers you another first - Have your say in our kit design for 2013. A poll for all you fans will be coming soon on the website!
The IPL player auction is taking place in Chennai on 3 February 2013. We are close to finalising our strategy that we hope it will play out as planned at the auction, although one can never be sure with auctions. However I can confirm that we re-signed Prasanth Parameswaran. We also welcome three new players to our squad for 2013, Sunny Sohal, Abhinav Mukund and Sandeep Warrier. We now have 24 contracted players, of which 6 are foreign players.
It is great to see the recent Ranji performances of CM Gautam, Vijay Zol and Saurabh Tiwary and the selection of Abhimanyu Mithun, Mukund and Vinay Kumar in the BCCI squads. May all our players maintain consistent performances and peak when IPL 6 starts.
Remember to budget time and funds for your must-watch RCB matches. Watch this space for notification and a call to action of securing your tickets and benefiting from advance booking discounts.
On a more personal note, we extend our hearty congratulations to Dan Vettori and his family on the recent birth of a baby girl.
The countdown to IPL 6 has begun…62 days to go.
