As stated previously, RCB owners and management are identifying opportunities to keep the RCB passion alive and burning. RCB is a lifestyle brand and our intention is to ensure you, our loyal fans, are able to enjoy an all-year round journey and experience with the RCB brand.
You may have seen, and hopefully participated, in the ongoing online auction for RCB memorabilia items. The auction platform is available right here via our website. I encourage you to bid for your own piece of limited edition RCB memorabilia, personally signed by our players. Many of our loyal fans are now the proud owners of a treasured memorabilia item signed by their favourite player/team.
So “wot’s up” for RCB in the immediate future? As loyal fans, YOU are the first to hear the good news that we are planning on hosting an event during the India versus New Zealand Test match in Bangalore due for late August/early September. The event is envisaged to be an evening of socializing, networking and good fun, interacting with top players from both New Zealand and India in an informal but classy environment. This type of RCB event will become an annual feature on our calendar and one that should not be missed.
Over and above the administrative and planning matters that are keeping us busy, we are in the process of producing a sponsorship deck which will outline various sponsorship/partnership opportunities for companies interested in becoming involved with the RCB brand and franchise as a partner, sponsor and/or service provider. We can be contacted directly should you, your company or anyone you’d like to recommend be interested in discussing such opportunities further in detail.
Our academy was launched recently and has been very well received by all stakeholders. We are now undertaking road trips to meet in person with the staff, management and players in each of our catchment areas. Maybe we will bump into you too along the way!
Another exciting plan in development currently is the establishment of an RCB Club. Membership of this exclusive group will offer many benefits – from significant discounts on merchandise and ticketing to preferential booking rates to invitations to special events, to name but a few. Please let us know whether you would be interested in being a member of such a club and the kinds of benefits you would value most by noting your comment to this article.
Even though you are unable to cheer for your favourite team in the Champions League tournament this year, I’m confident that you will be entertained with some excellent cricket by the teams participating. Enjoy the wealth of sport and cricket we have ahead over the next few months - from the London Olympics to the World T20 in Sri Lanka.
Finally, and by no means least, I hope you’ll join me in wishing our Indian RCB players the very best for their tour to Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli has already set the pace with a brilliant hundred and Karun Nair scored a double century (266 to be exact) for the Bangalore City XI recently. Long may their success continue as we cheer for an RCB player who does us proud and continues to entertain us so richly.
Yours in cricket
