The Windies were awful to start with, after MS Dhoni won his second successive toss and elected to bowl. Dwayne Smith looked clueless against some top-notch outswingers from Bhuvneshwar Kumar before succumbing to spin, while Mohammad Shami kept things tight at the other end. Chris Gayle was run-out after playing his slowest possible T20 knock, (34 off 33 balls) and despite being dropped twice in his innings, failed to take advantage. The spinners were once again at the forefront, particularly Amit Mishra, whose leg spin rewarded him with yet another noteworthy performance.
