India has always had it tough when it comes to fast bowlers. Genuine Indian pacers are a rare breed. Those who manage to retain their pace tend to suffer from a plethora of injuries. Earlier, India captain MS Dhoni’s decision to open the bowling with his frontline spinner Ravichandra Ashwin backfired as he conceded 17 runs to England’s openers in the 1st over. Dhoni introduced his seamers Mohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami, who chipped in with handy wickets and curbed the run-rate. In-form opener Alex Hales contributed to England’s cause with a valuable 40 off just 25 balls. Hales put on a crucial partnership of 48 with Joe Root. India's partnership-breaker Ravindra Jadeja removed Hales while debutant Karn Sharma dismissed Root for 26 to take his first T20I wicket.

The Eden Gardens has been the stronghold of the Kolkata Knight Riders for a long time. The pitch there is tailor made for the way they play the match. With no shortage of quality spinners in their lineup and a tinge of green, all the bowlers get an opportunity to have their say. The pitch at the stadium in Hyderabad is batting friendly with even bounce. The flat track assists good shot making and playing through the line. The last time RCB played a match here, it ended in a Super Over. The team chasing has won in all 3 matches played at this ground in IPL 7; something that should make the decision to bowl first a no-brainer.

The business end of IPL 7 is here and as the table stands right now, there is just 1 spot for 3 teams to qualify for the playoffs. For RCB, the equation is pretty simple. Win 3 out of the next 3 matches and qualify for the playoffs leaving KKR and SRH - the other contenders behind. With matches against SRH, KKR and CSK yet to be played, RCB need every ounce of their talent and strength to pull through.
