Bolt and Yuvi battle it out at the Chinnaswamy

The world’s fastest man and RCB’s prolific southpaw took on each other at the Chinnaswamy last Tuesday. They got together to play a 4-over cricket match and run a hundred metre race against each other.

In a surprising turn of events, Team Bolt managed to upstage Team Yuvi after winning the toss and electing to bowl first. Led by Yuvraj’s quick 24, Team Yuvi managed to set the target at a staggering 59 in 4 overs. A major contribution came from Aditya Tare who scored a blistering 30.

Zimbabwe toppled Australia down to fourth place in the ODI rankings after their historic win on Sunday. This combined with India’s two consecutive ODI wins over England has the Men in Blue beaming at the top of this table. Today’s match will give India another chance to justify their position as the number one ODI team. But more than that, it will be a chance to convincingly defeat England after being ploughed by them in a very forgettable Test series.

Dhoni put England in to bat first and it looked like the openers would take the game away from the Indians. Captain Cook and Alex Hales put on a promising partnership of 82 but the magical arm of Suresh Raina broke the stand and triggered England’s batting collapse. The hosts never recovered from there as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were never able to coin a worthwhile partnership.

Kohli, Zol win coveted CEAT cricket awards

"It's good to see an Indian (Kohli) win the main award again and that he has won it for the second time at such a young age should inspire other youngsters also to win the coveted award," said the chief adjudicator of CEAT Cricket Rating and Indian batting legend, Sunil Gavaskar.

There’s even more good news for RCB fans as our upcoming star Vijay Zol won the coveted ‘Young Player of the Year’ award. Zol remarked that it was a memorable experience for him to share the same RCB dressing-room with many great players.

Chennai win by 8 wickets to end bittersweet RCB season

Chennai’s batsmen led by MS Dhoni crashed RCB’s Go Green game, the team’s last game of the season at the M Chinnaswamy on Sunday, chasing a target of 155 successfully to win by 8 wickets.

Chennai won the toss and decided to put the men in green today in to bat first. The home side rang in four changes as Rilee Rossouw came in for Chris Gayle, Shadab Jakati for Ashok Dinda, Ravi Rampaul for Muttiah Muralitharan and Vijay Zol for Abu Nechim.

Pepsi IPL 2014: Phase 1 fixtures announced

Phase 1 of IPL 7 will include 20 matches that will be played across 3 stadiums, namely the Sheikh Zayed Stadium (Abu Dhabi), Sharjah CA Stadium (Sharjah) and Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai).

The opening game will be played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders at Abu Dhabi April 16. The following day, Royal Challengers Bangalore will kick start their campaign in Match No.2, against Delhi Daredevils at Sharjah.
