RCB recently had many reasons to celebrate as our players demonstrated their talent and were recognised for their potential around the world. We are proud to celebrate the success of Vijay Zol – one of our young up-and-coming batsmen. Vijay was recently named the captain of the India U-19 cricket team to play against Australia. He is currently down-under delivering good batting performances with 46 in the first match, followed by 128 off only 131 balls in the second and 64 in the third.
RCB young gun Vijay Zol, who was recently announced as the skipper of the U-19 team, says the tips he received from the RCB seniors during the IPL practice sessions will come in handy when he leads the Indian junior side in Australia this month.

Royal Challengers Bangalore were beaten by the Sun Risers Hyderabad on Sunday night after a Super Over finish. Sun Risers’ youngsters helped their team level with RCB’s 130 run total to bring up the 2013 Pepsi IPL's first tied game before their imported pros sealed the game in the Super Over.

Ahead of his first season as full time skipper, Kohli was more involved, sharing ideas on the kind of players RCB should target at the 2013 IPL player auction. On the eve of their first match, against Mumbai Indians on their home ground, Kohli answered a few questions.
Daniel Vettori, one of the finest bowlers in RCB, has returned to training after recovering from an injury. With Muttiah Muralitharan in the side he may not be a regular in RCB’s starting XI but he is an integral part of the team, mentoring the youngsters and giving much needed inputs as ex-skipper. There is no doubt that Vettori will be needed at crucial times in the current season to help the team out.

On Wednesday came the big announcement of Virat Kohli being appointed as the new RCB captain. After a dream run with the bat in 2012 Kohli’s leadership capabilities were clearly established. He certainly is one of the contenders to the lead the Indian team in the future. Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar also backed him up to be the next skipper of the Indian team.
Virat Kohli has been appointed the new RCB captain. Kohli succeeds the highly respected and successful former RCB captain Daniel Vettori. Kohli’s appointment follows a productive IPL 6 auction in which RCB strengthened their bowling line-up significantly and added capable all-rounders to increase the amount of flexibility in the selection of the playing squad.
