Local boy Aniruddha Joshi is a white ball specialist! Anirudha started his career as an offspinner who could bat a bit. With limited facilities in his hometown Gadag, he would take a 3:30 AM train everyday to a better equipped Hubli to train and practise. Though Anirudha's hometown of Gadag had little to offer him in terms of facilities to enhance his skills, the passion that his family had towards the game worked well in his favour. He set Karnataka's domestic circuit alight with a blazing knock of 73* off 45 balls just 4 days before the auction!

Having made his T20 debut for Karnataka back in 2011, he never enjoyed a successful run of games in ODIs and T20s for his state but has enjoyed a resurgence of late. He's been in and out of the white ball sides but his power hitting skills have finally come to the fore when he registered 40 off just 19 balls in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018. He followed it up with that unbeaten 73 and his current form perhaps suggested enough to the RCB management that Aniruddha can be a useful addition to the Bold. He's a handy off-break bowler as well and down at No.6 or 7, provides a useful option in case skipper Virat Kohli is looking at playing a big-hitting allrounder.
