Delhi batsman Himmat Singh, who can also chip in with a few off breaks has represented Delhi at various youth levels. The 22 year old made his first class debut in 2017 and T20 debut in January 2018 for Delhi, establishing himself in the state side as a key cog in the Delhi batting unit. It's often believed that despite being a precocious talent, he was left out not for mentality issues, but because of the already star-studded Delhi batting line-up comprising Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag were blocking him at the time from making the cut from junior cricket. He missed the bus to the India U-19 World Cup of 2016, a tournament that had thrust contemporary Rishabh Pant into the limelight. But he only went upwards from there, becoming a prolific run-getter for the U-23 sides for Delhi and from thereon making a name for himself in the senior state side especially in the 50 over format.
He was included in the Asia Cup Emerging players tournament in December 2018 which has the country's most promising U-23 players. He shone against the likes of Pakistan and Sri Lanka to convince the RCB management that he was worth the INR 65 Lakh that we bid to acquire his services.
