KL Rahul the tall, elegant and technically sound local Bangalore batsman also doubles up as a wicketkeeper. He is one of the most highly rated young batsmen and his technique and fortitude has impressed some of India's biggest names in cricket – Rahul Dravid included.
KL Rahul was a part of India's squad for the 2010 U19 World Cup and made his first-class debut later the same year. In 2013-14 he struck gold with his bat in the Ranji Trophy. He laid the foundation for Karnataka's win that season with his 1033 runs. This included three tons, three scores in the nineties and a Man of the Match Award for his contributions in the final.
Twin centuries at the 2014-15 Duleep Trophy won him a slot in the Indian Test squad for the tour Australia. He debuted at Melbourne and in his second Test at Sydney, scored his first Test ton. His second one came in the same year against Sri Lanka.
The solid top-order batsman is capable of keeping the scoreboard ticking as well as going all out. And his being a wicketkeeper gives us the opportunity to shuffle things around with our playing eleven.
