Mandeep Singh became the talk of the Indian cricketing world with back-to-back centuries in his debut season for the Punjab U-15 team in the 2005 Polly Umrigar Trophy. The season after that his knocks of 113, 98 and 165 were critical in Punjab retaining the title. The right-handed top-order batsman performed splendidly in Australia and South Africa for the India U-19 team in 2009, earning the role of Vice-Captaincy on India’s 2010 U-19 World Cup campaign in New Zealand.
