About

Nathan Coulter-Nile is a proficient limited overs bowler from Australia. The tall Western Australian, also known as "The Nile" or "River" has a fascinating story. He had to fend for his daughter but didn't have enough money to send her to school until he bagged an IPL contract in 2013! After showing a lot of promise for his native side Western Australia, he got into the touring Australia A side in 2012 and was seriously considered to play for Australia.

He made his T20I debut in February 2013 and ODI debut in September that year. Although injuries have hampered his progression and the number of games he has played for the national team, his bowling average of under 30 in both ODIs and T20Is tells you a lot about his ability.

His adroitness in swinging the new ball as well as bowling the changeups is what makes him a versatile component and flexibility to use him in different situations. That he can hit the ball a long way is an added bonus to whichever side he represents. He has played IPL cricket for MI, DD and KKR earlier and was particularly successful with KKR in VIVO IPL 2017. In the VIVO IPL Auction 2018, he was snapped up by RCB for INR 2.20 Crores but unfortunately, missed the season through injury.

Ahead of VIVO IPL 2019, RCB had announced their intention to keep NCN for the forthcoming season.
