The Royal Challengers Bangalore are on a winning spree in the ongoing IPL and are just one win away from reaching the summit. In the final episode of the 9th season of the Indian Premier, Kohli's troops take on the David Warner led Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Chinnaswamy today.

Virat Kohli (5), AB de Villiers (4) and Shane Watson have (1) have all combined for 10 Man-of-the-Match awards, which is the most for a single team in a single season of IPL. They have played a significant hand in seeing their team through and have been the trending topics across all social media platforms.

Before the two teams collide, let's take a look at the 5 most important things when the Bold take on the Orange Army!

First time winners!

The Royal Challengers Bangalore and SRH have never won an IPL trophy. While RCB will be taking the field in their third final, it will be the first final for the Sunrisers. Both teams have played exceedingly well in the tournament and deserve a place in this ultimate battle.

The competition seems tough already with the Orange cap holder Virat Kohli on RCB's side and Purple cap holder Bhuvi on the opposite side. RCB and SRH have both won a game each in the league stage against each other. The 2016 IPL's two South Indian sides will give it their all to outdo each other today.

Both teams are expected to show no mercy in this battle for the bragging rights!

Fight for the purple cap

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has managed 23 wickets so far and owns the purple cap. Our Bold Royal Challengers Shane Watson and Yuzvendra Chahal are placed second on identical figures of 20. The fight to regain the purple cap from Bhuvi will be on the cards when Watto and Chahal both come to the bowling crease during the final.

Their four overs each will not only determine the result of the purple cap, but will have a huge impact on the outcome of the match too. We hope for them to come good and overhaul Bhuvi's tally with a final flourish!

1k for Kohli?

With 919 runs so far, Virat Kohli has become the highest run getter in a single season. The prolific batsman is 81 runs short of crossing the magical 1000 run mark in a single series. Comparisons between Sir Don Bradman and Kohli have been drawn off lately with Bradman having scored 974 runs in the 1930 Ashes against England which set him apart from the others during those times.

Though these are different eras and different formats, Kohli has secured a special place for himself in the record books and often sets a benchmark for the other players. We hope for Kohli to score those vital runs for RCB and script a dramatic end to this phenomenal season!

Can Gayle be the champion, again?

After a triumphant ICC World T20 campaign with the West Indies just before the IPL, Chris Gayle is now chasing yet another title. The Universe Boss has smashed IPL records in the past and has a lot of them still to his name. The only thing that has eluded him is the IPL trophy. Today, Chris Gayle will be willing to give it his all and help his side conquer their first ever IPL title.

The southpaw was seen at his destructive best against KXIP at the Chinnaswamy and will be hoping to entertain his favourite crowd before signing off!

Will the Karnataka trio bring the cup home?

Our local lads KL Rahul, Sreenath Aravind and Stuart Binny have been crucial members of the side and have helped us win many games in the season thus far. In front of their home crowd today, the boys will be eager to perform again. Rahul has scored 386 runs in the season thus far and is the side's third highest run-getter behind VK and AB. Stuart Binny has been performing the job of a finisher with the bat and often shares the new ball with his Karnataka mate Aravind.

Aravind has made a name for himself with his first-over dismissals and often sets the stage for the other bowlers to capitalise on. He has a knack of breaking crucial partnerships and will play a crucial part against the likes of Warner and Dhawan today.

We wish the team all the luck for this final encounter and hope for them to pass this test with flying colors.
