Yuzvendra Chahal scalped four wickets from as many games in India's 5-0 whitewash of the Lankans in the ODIs. Expressing his happiness over India's emphatic triumph, Chahal seemed to fall short for words while praising his skipper Virat Kohli's leadership on and off the field.
Yes, off the field, because it gives your morale a boost when the captain of the national team backs you through all highs and lows.
"Virat Kohli always remains positive on the ground, always confident about his decisions. He will always motivate you even if you are giving runs or if you are not doing well", Chahal told India TV.
Chahal also became a part of a unique record - the first ever instance of India fielding 2 wrist spinners in their 922 game old history. Talking about his comeback, Chahal spoke, "Sri Lanka tour is very important for me because I came back after one year in the ODI team and we won 5-0. I can't express my feeling how happy I am to be a part of this team."
Chahal's inclusion came after he performed well on similar, dry and flat South African wickets for the 'A' team.
"Sri Lankan pitches are very slow. Before I came here, I bowled on similar kind of wickets in South Africa and I performed well there. So, I was confident about myself and obviously, it was a great feeling if you take wickets for your team and help the team to win wearing the India jersey. It is a great feeling, you can't express it in words."
