16 year old Prayas Ray Barman is a leg spinner playing his cricket for Bengal. The boy stands at 6'1" and is still growing! He is in the mould of Bengaluru and India hero Anil Kumble relying more on his stock legspinner. An idol of Shane Warne and considers captain Virat Kohli as a role model with the professionalism and passion that he exhibits on the cricket field. He made his List A debut in September 2018 and with 11 wickets in 9 games, he was their leading wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He had no expectations from the 2019 Auction, let alone going for the price that made him a part of the RCB family. Situations can present you with precarious dilemmas and Prayas would be forced to delay his board examinations to be in time for the VIVO IPL.

He spent his formative years in Delhi but moved back to his roots first to Durgapur and recently to Kolkata where he has represented Bengal in the U-14 and U-16 categories. Having Yuzvendra Chahal in the side helps, guidance on understanding batsmen better and devise newer ways to dismiss them. The level headed teen has a bright future!
