About

Tim Southee is a right-arm fast medium bowler for New Zealand. He was first included to play the 2006 ICC U-19 WC as a 17 year old and inspired his team to reach the final. Having made his debut for the Kiwis back in 2008 and taken over 400 International wickets, he comes in with the right amount of experience and talent. Over the years, he has become an integral part of the Kiwi setup and along with Trent Boult, continues to lead the attack along with Trent Boult.

He has a big outswinger but is equally capable of moving the ball the other way, making him a potent force. His bowling in India is underrated and people often forget how good he can be in executing yorkers and the cutters in the death overs. He got 18 wickets in the ICC World Cup 2011, which underlines this fact!

He's represented CSK, RR and MI in the past with varying success in the IPL but has also demonstrated that he can hit the long ball when he's asked to do so, adding further utility to his game. He played his second U-19 World Cup in 2008 and is a contemporary of skipper Virat Kohli. He further strengthens RCB's pace battery and could prove to be a shrewd buy for us.
