Yuzvendra Singh Chahal is a leg spinner who has been playing Ranji Trophy cricket for Haryana since the 2008-09 season. His best figures in first class cricket are 4/22.
'Yuzi' Chahal first attracted attention when he took 34 wickets in the National Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy in 2009, ending the tournament as its leading wicket-taker. He became a part of the Mumbai Indians Squad in 2011 and was a part of it in the Champions League T20 as well, where he starred for them in the final.
Yuzvendra has been a part of RCB since 2014 and has gone on to take 70 wickets in 55 games for us! 23 and 21 wickets in the 2015 and 2016 IPL along with consistent displays for Haryana in domestic cricket saw him make his debut against Zimbabwe in June 2016. He was then given an opportunity to play T20I cricket against England in early 2017, and didn't disappoint, becoming the first Indian to claim a 6-for in T20Is against England at Bengaluru.
He was given an extended run in the long limited overs home season of 2017 and has formed a deadly wrist spin partnership with Kuldeep Yadav for India's limited overs team. He has since gone on to establish himself as a wily customer who often beats the batsman in the air and with his variations. He recently took his maiden ODI 5 wicket-haul for India against South Africa in Centurion.
A match-winner on his day, he wasn't retained ahead of the VIVO IPL Auction 2018 but RCB used their Right To Match card to get him back to the Bold ahead of VIVO IPL 2018!
