The RCB vs CSK game is probably the most special occasion in IPL – Devdutt Padikkal
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will enter the match against CSK on the back of a three-match winning streak which is quite a leap in the age-old rivalry. Last year, RCB beat Chennai Super Kings in their fortress of Chepauk, a game that changed all equations for the eventual champions.
Ahead of RCB’s clash against CSK in Chinnaswamy tonight, Devdutt Padikkal, who smashed 27 off just 14 balls in Chepauk last year, opened up on what this game means to everyone. He highlighted the singularity of this clash while urging the fans to come in numbers as that would be a massive morale-booster for the Royal Challengers.
Talking on RCB Game Day, Padikkal said, “Last year was really special, playing at Chepauk and winning there. Whenever you are able to contribute to your team, it always feels good.”
Shedding light on RCB’s win against SRH, Padikkal added, “We started off the first match really well. Everyone is doing well. Hopefully, we can continue to get better at it and get better than what we did last year, and if we continue to work towards that, I think we'll have a good season ahead.”
Highlighting the importance of the rivalry and how the fans can be a massive catalyst for the Royal Challengers, Padikkal stated, “The RCB vs CSK game is probably the most special occasion in the IPL season. I personally always dreamt of playing in those games and to be able to do that is something incredible. So, really all your support and all your enthusiasm will translate to that as well.”
