Video – Smriti Mandhana equals Harmanpreet Kaur’s six-hitting record in T20Is
As India secured their second win of the five-match T20I series, Smriti Mandhana equalled Harmanpreet Kaur to add another sensational record to her name.
Part of a crucial 29-run stand with Shafali Verma which set the tone right for the chase, during the partnership, Smriti smacked Malki Madara for a humongous maximum over deep square leg, equalling the record of striking the joint most number of sixes for India in T20Is.
Harmanpreet Kaur sat at the top with 77 sixes but Mandhana managed to parallel the record in her signature style as she made the ball disappear behind the ropes. You can watch the video of Smriti smashing the six against Madara here.
This record comes on the back of Mandhana going past the 4000-run mark in T20Is, becoming the first Indian woman's cricketer to achieve the feat. While New Zealand's Suzie Bates (4716 runs) sits atop the list, Smriti got past the landmark in just 3227 balls, while the former took 3675 balls.
