Jitesh Sharma named captain of India A squad for Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025
Jitesh Sharma’s meteoric rise in recent times has earned him a role as captain of the 15-man India A squad, which will travel to Qatar for the Rising Stars Asia Cup tournament that will take place from 14th-23rd November 2025 at the West End International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
On the back of a solid performance in the IPL 2025 season, talented leg-spinner Suyash Sharma has earned his maiden India A callup as well, with the talented leg-spinner having troubled batters consistently courtesy of his mixed bag of tricks - including figures of 3/17 in Qualifier 1 against Punjab Kings which earned him the Player of the Match award.
Jitesh is currently with the senior men’s team for the five-match T20I series in Australia and is expected to join the India A squad immediately after it concludes. Naman Dhir has been named as Jitesh’s deputy for the series, with India A placed alongside Oman, UAE and Pakistan A in Group B.
India A will play UAE (Nov 14th), Pakistan A (Nov 16th) and Oman (Nov 18th) in their group stage clashes, with both the semi-finals slated for November 21st and the final scheduled for November 23rd.
