Western Australia, a state which has produced myriads of talents over the years. From Adam Gilchrist, Micheal Hussey to Shaun Marsh and Marcus Stoinis, Western Australia has always had the reputation to unearth players. One such name is that of 22-year-old Joshua Philippe.

Joshua Philipe, a belligerent batsman who is not shy of taking on the bowlers from the word go, made his debut for Western Australia in the 2017-18 edition of the Sheffield Shield tournament. Consistent, dexterous, and astute, Joshua Phillipe is the latest poster boy of Western Australia's familiar batting production line.

Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired the services of the wicketkeeper-batsman following his success in the BBL. The Head Coach of RCB, Simon Katich; who also happens to hail from Western Australia foresaw the potential of the 22-year-old.

Joshua Philippe was one of the main architects behind Sydney's success in the BBL campaign. Moises Henriques, Steve Smith, Nathan Lyon, and Josh Hazlewood - In a team that had the most number of match-winners put together, the 22-year-old lorded over them all. With 487 runs in 16 games, Joshua's valiant form piloted Sydney Sixers to their second BBL title.

The Man of the Final - Joshua Philippe

The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) took centre stage as Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars squared off against each other. In perhaps his biggest game, Joshua Philippe anchored the innings to perfection and blitzed his way to a half-century in just 27 balls. In a rain-curtailed game, his innings perfectly set up Sydney Sixers' win against Melbourne Stars in the Final.

The wicketkeeper was adjudged the Man of the Match for his brilliance with the bat. Following his scintillating show at the BBL, Steve Smith heaped praise on the 22-year-old.

In the recently concluded, Sheffield Shield tournament, Josh scored 369 runs in 7 matches which also consisted of 3 half-centuries.

The inclusion of the Western Australian wicketkeeper in Royal Challengers Bangalore comes as no surprise, the 22-year-old might prove to be the surprise package. He will relish the challenge of playing amidst the vibrant and exuberant Chinnaswamy crowd.
