A game-changer for us – Harmanpreet Kaur's ultimate praise for Richa Ghosh
Richa Ghosh powered home a terrific fightback against England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 warmup match, blasting 68 off 36. This is a massive turnaround for Richa, who scored only 81 runs across five matches against South Africa in April during the series that led up to the World Cup.
Ahead of India’s tournament opener at the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Birmingham, Indian captain, Harmanpreet Kaur opened up on how Richa being in form is a massive boost for the entire side. Talking at the pre-match presser ahead of India’s clash against Pakistan, she highlighted that Richa is a key player and can influence a lot of difference in the game.
Kaur said, “We were waiting for Richa to get that confidence back. She's a key player, a game-changer for us, and we are all very happy that now she's back in form and confident again.”
Kaur further added, “She's looking really well after that game, even in the nets. One good innings always gives you a lot of confidence, and we have seen that the moment she got those runs she looks like a completely different player in the nets. I think that her rough phase is gone."
