A lot has changed in my life – Rajat Patidar on life as RCB captain

Rajat Patidar was handed over the RCB captaincy for IPL 2025 and he’s done a terrific job, with the team winning eight of their 11 matches so far.
However, taking up the responsibility wouldn’t have been a straightforward task. On the RCB Podcast, Patidar shed light on how he approached the role.
Patidar said, “A lot has changed in my life. This is the complete opposite of my nature. I consider myself lucky that I have the RCB management.”
He further added, “The coach and all the staff, Andy, Mo, DK Bhai, Malo, they have made half of my work easy, to be honest. Because the rest, the external things, they take care of while I just need to take care of the on-ground stuff. I feel that I am very well supported by the RCB management.”
Revealing his emotions at the first toss, he said, “About the first toss, I had questions about how is it going to be and if I win the toss, what do I have to say, what questions can come, all those things were going on in my head and it was also very clear, what do I have to do, about the team and decision making and in my support, I also had Virat Kohli, so I felt that it was going to be a fine learning for me. He himself has led RCB and India for a long time, so I feel that whatever experience and ideas that he has, is going to be a massive help for me.”
