Ahmedabad to host IPL 2026 final as BCCI announce playoffs schedule
Dharamsala, New Chandigarh and Ahmedabad have been selected as the venues for the IPL 2026 Playoffs, according to a BCCI release. Initially, Bengaluru was chosen as the venue for the final but in a statement released by the BCCI, it stated, “Owing to certain requirements from the local association and authorities that were beyond the scope of BCCI's established guidelines and protocols, the venue has been shifted and reassigned.”
The first Qualifier will be played in Dharamsala on May 26th. New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur will be playing host to the first Eliminator and the second Qualifier which will be played on May 27th and May 29th respectively.
Eventually the caravan will move to Ahmedabad where the summit clash will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium, similar to the previous season. The BCCI statement further added, “Owing to certain operational and logistical considerations, the TATA IPL 2026 Playoffs will be conducted across three venues this season as a special case.”
RCB's last group stage encounter is on May 22nd against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home ground. The last game before the playoffs will see the Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Delhi Capitals on May 24th.
