As a leader he’s absorbed pressure well – Dinesh Karthik on Rajat Patidar

As RCB prepares for their second consecutive final, all eyes will be on Rajat Patidar, who delivered an impeccable performance in the first qualifier, scoring an unbeaten 93 from just 33 balls. Apart from his sensational performance in the qualifier, this has already been his best season in his overall IPL career with a tally of 486 runs and a strike rate of 196.76.

In an exclusive interview with the Times of India, RCB’s batting coach and mentor, Dinesh Karthik opened up on how Rajat Patidar has evolved as the captain over the last two years, while also expressing pride at his growth as a human being.

Karthik said, “It's been heartwarming to see him remain the same person: cool, calm, and relaxed on and off the field. As a leader, he’s absorbed pressure well without showing it, which is commendable. He’s still the person he was before becoming captain, which says a lot about him. I’ve played with him and have a good relationship. Seeing him succeed as both a batter and a skipper makes me very proud.”
